About Jon Underwood

I'm the guy who set up Impermanence.

I'm 40 years old and live in Hackney, East London with 2 young kids and Donna. I am a student at Jamyang Buddhist Centre.

I'm motivated to do this work because I believe that engaging with death is both important and overlooked.

My experience tells me that death can play a role in helping us enjoy life. I also believe that focusing on death can play a part in helping us get to grips with some big challenges - like supporting older people, climate change, a broken economic system and chronic global inequality.

This may not immediately make sense but if we can face up to death we can face up to anything, no?

I am very proud of Impermanence - I don't think there has ever been anything quite like it! I'm really enjoying this work and am committed to following a course of death-activism as long as possible.

I love talking to people about this work and am very open to ideas, partnerships, support and criticism. Please do get in touch.
